Responsibilities

Sustainability expertise

• Provide guidance and support on greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories and methodologies 
• Prepare sustainability action plans, briefs, recommendations, and reports
• Provide customer recommendations to reduce emission areas with the greatest impact 
• Advise customers in developing their sustainability programs and roadmap
• Bring thought leadership of ESG standards, best practices, trends, and regulations

Customer and Partner engagement

• Align to our customers’ business context so we can help them achieve their ESG goals
• Directly lead and oversee multiple customer projects delivering ESG inventory and services including client engagement and final deliverables
• Influence customers with strategic thinking and compelling value propositions
• Articulate the value of the Scope 5 platform and services through demonstrations, storytelling and by leveraging platform and ESG knowledge to meet customer outcomes
• Lead technical training sessions to new and existing customers
• Ensure service delivery and customer success with scoping, budget, and execution
• Liaise between customers and internal teams to ensure customer outcomes are met

Product management

• Apply your technical expertise to configure the platform and to provide product support
• Maintain emissions factor libraries and other sustainability tools for customer use
• Scope and define new features and explain and promote them to customers
• Serve as the voice of the customer to internal teams to expand ESG offerings
• Advocate for improving our customers experience as market expectations evolve
• Support platform testing and develop knowledge base articles

Qualifications

• Motivated self-starter who can balance priorities and work quickly across multiple workstreams in a dynamic environment
• Highly organized, process-oriented person with a keen attention to detail and high standards
• Curious and unflappable problem solver who brings a science and data focused approach to managing complex ESG data and process challenges to achieve practical results
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel (e.g., formula's, data manipulation, pivot tables, etc.), familiar with data visualization and data presentation tools and best practices
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills with ability to map customer processes to ESG impacts and to recommend ESG process, data management and KPI strategies and solutions
• Strong people skills, with a proven ability to build trusted working relationships
• Effective written and oral communicator who can clearly convey complex information
• Collaborative team-oriented style with strong facilitation and an affinity to train and coach others to share your knowledge as a trusted advisor
• Proficient in GHG reporting (Scope 1, 2 and 3), the GHG Protocol and related analysis
• Experience with CDP reporting and ESG standards, frameworks, and the data ecosystem
• Bachelor's Degree: Business, Engineering, Environmental Studies, Technology, or similar discipline
• 3+ years of experience in the sustainability domain, with a focus on GHG emissions analysis
• 3+ years of experience as a business analyst, data analyst, consultant, product manager or in customer delivery, supply chain operations, technical sales, or related work experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Proven track record in planning, research, project management and report writing skills
• Customer facing service or solution delivery experience with effectively influenced outcomes
• Experience with climate risk assessment, Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), Renewable Energy Credits, and emerging ESG best practices with the ability to make recommendations for customers
• Able to understand and advise on the ESG data value chain to inform ESG strategies
• Desire to learn, and adapt technical, sustainability and data skills as the ESG space evolves
• Knowledge of the benefits and capabilities of sustainability data management platforms
• MS degree in an environmental science, engineering, MBA, or related discipline
• 5+ years of experience in sustainability consulting, in GHG emissions analysis and carbon reduction strategies
