Senior Manager, Global ESG Reporting

The role: 

The Senior Manager, Global ESG Reporting will be part of the company’s ESG Center of Excellence (COE) and support the company’s ESG disclosure and reporting aligned to ESG standards and frameworks. This role will be responsible for leading ESG data collection and analysis and ensuring validity of reporting by working with internal stakeholders at all levels and external vendors. This position will manage internal coordination of response to key ESG raters and identification of gaps and opportunities based on trends, policies, legislations, and updated methodologies used by ESG raters. This role will conduct research and peer benchmarking and engage with external partners to learn the best practices from the industry and share with ESG COE.


How you would contribute: 

  • Manage the implementation the ESG database across regions and business functions for data collection and project management. Provide ongoing training, develop data collection process, and coordinate database updates for improvement as needed. 
  • Collect, calculate, aggregate, and analyze data following ESG reporting frameworks. Improve current ESG reporting and disclosures and develop an ongoing approach to data, metrics, and reporting. 
  • Manage tracking of targets and metrics in the ESG database and provide analytics for internal and external communication. 
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to conduct audits of ESG-related reports and certificates. 
  • Conduct annual analysis of key ESG ratings agency methodology and lead internal coordination of response to key ESG-related inquiries, questionnaires, surveys, and ratings agencies (MSCI, ISS, Sustainalytics, CDP Climate and Forest, S&P DJSI, and etc.). 
  • Conduct research and peer benchmarking to support strategic planning, goal setting to facilitate conversations with stakeholders, and assist with ESG target setting and implementation of initiatives. Provide mentorship to the business on ESG best practices. 
  • Provide support to maintain and improve ESG-related policies, management systems, and procedures. 
  • Identify emerging ESG trends and translate them into actionable improvements that can be incorporated into ESG strategy. 


Skills and background required to be successful: 

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in ESG or financial compliance reporting or due diligence 
  • Strong background in data management and analytics 
  • Solid understanding of ESG frameworks, carbon accounting, and target setting and experience putting processes in place for third party verification 
  • Strong writing and verbal skills including the ability to organize, interpret, and summarize large amounts of information into concise and simple text and presentations 
  • Strong program management and organizational skills, including the ability to create work plans, manage workstreams and meet deadlines 
  • Ability to work independently and with cross-functional and regional teams and manage communication across multiple levels and functional areas of the organization 
  • A strong team player, with a high degree of professionalism, integrity and maturity, comfortable working collaboratively, virtually, and autonomously 

Education 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in ESG, financial compliance, due diligence, or data management and analytics

Expected Travel: 

  • Up to 10% international or domestic travel
