CAMPAIGN OVERVIEW


Greenlight Action is building a scalable, nationwide model for engaging and mobilizing local residents in support of clean energy projects. We aspire to be the leading grassroots campaign force powering the clean energy transition in terms of steel in the ground, with the result that more clean power projects win local siting and permitting approval more quickly, contributing to an overall environment where the U.S. exceeds our clean energy generation and transmission goals for the next decade.


POSITION OVERVIEW


The Industry Engagement Director leads Greenlight’s engagement with the clean energy industry, including both clean energy companies and clean energy buyers, as well as other corporate stakeholders in Greenlight’s work. As the senior-most staffer focused on industry engagement, the Industry Engagement Director will have an important voice in assessing and

sharing industry needs and perspectives to shape Greenlight’s strategy, as well as in developing effective programs and communications to represent Greenlight’s work to industry stakeholders. A successful candidate for this position will have professional clean energy experience in the private sector, such as in a project development or community engagement role, with relationships in the industry and the knowledge of project development necessary to communicate the value of Greenlight’s work to developers. They will also have a demonstrated capacity to learn new subjects and build new partnerships, be highly creative and willing to take risks, and exhibit strong skills in project management. The position is remote and reports to the Senior Director, Partnerships.


PRIMARY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


● Identify and fill gaps in our industry partnerships, through industry research, stakeholder engagement, systematic outreach, communications, and presentation.

● Build new relationships with industry stakeholders and effectively utilize industry relationships to support campaign identification and development, in consultation with the campaigns team and Chief Program Officer.

● Cultivate and steward industry partners, exhibiting strong relational practices, follow-through, clear communication, and reliability.

● In consultation with other staff, develop events, trainings, materials, and other communications with industry partners as the intended audience, and consult with other Greenlight staff to ensure industry partners as an audience are reflected appropriately in organizational materials.

● Along with the senior director of partnerships, explore and develop a longer-term industry engagement model, such as a trade council, with potential goals of revenue generation and/or driving adoption of best practices for community engagement across the industry; lead execution of industry engagement models, including strategic planning, experimentation, analysis, and iteration.


EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Key Qualifications

We are especially interested in candidates with the following qualifications:

● 6+ years of relevant professional experience, including at least 4+ years in the clean energy industry; preference for candidates with experience in project development, community or public engagement, public/external/government affairs, and similar functions

● Experience developing resources and materials for staff and leadership at clean energy companies

● Willingness to think creatively, take risks, objectively evaluate results, and iterate

● Strong written and verbal communications skills, including experience delivering

persuasive written products and presentations to clean energy industry staff

● Passion for accelerating the clean energy transition


COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS


The base annual salary for this position is $105,000-$140,000. We offer an excellent benefits package which includes 100% employer paid premiums for medical, dental, and vision insurance, unlimited paid time off, monthly technology stipend, and retirement contributions through 401k and Roth plans.
