Georgia State Director

Atlanta, GA

The State Director functions as the executive director for TNC in Georgia and serves as a senior leader for TNC, advancing major conservation initiatives to benefit people and nature. The State Director leads chapter staff and trustees to develop new and existing donors, form large scale partnerships, and build a broader constituency for conservation.  The position is in Atlanta.

 

The State Director oversees development and marketing and works with staff to increase individual, foundation and corporate support, and engage major donor cultivation, especially in the Atlanta market. As a leader in the Georgia conservation movement, the State Director plays a primary role in working with partner organizations, government agencies, elected officials, corporations, and other key decision-makers to build alliances and shared agendas that advance science driven conservation outcomes in Georgia, across the southeastern U.S., and around the world.

 

The State Director is accountable for the chapter’s success in implementing the Conservancy’s global conservation approach, producing measurable results, and upholding organizational values. They demonstrate progress by successfully creating and leading a diverse workplace culture, nurturing a safe and inclusive environment for all, and focusing on equitable conservation processes and results. They support seasoned and emerging staff and volunteer leaders in service of shared organizational goals and outcomes, as well as a culture of collaboration, personal accountability, innovation, and high morale.

 

The State Director in Georgia plays a leading role in the Southern U.S. Division, which spans 10 states from Virginia and Kentucky southward to Florida and Louisiana, and reports to the Southern Division Director. They actively participate in the Southern Leadership team and other Division teams, collaborating on innovative, cross-boundary projects and funding efforts.
