Environmental Sustainability Scientist (Healthcare)

Position Overview: As a Scientist and a principal investigator, you will play a pivotal leadership role in our organization's mission to promote sustainable healthcare practices and quantify and mitigate environmental impact. You will independently develop and lead innovative scientific research initiatives to analyze and evaluate the effects of sustainable resource use on hospital operations, patient health outcomes and the community's overall well-being. These include life cycle analysis, economic impact, health outcomes research and other related topics. You will serve as the primary scientific faculty member and research leader for the Office of Sustainability, guiding the strategic direction of research in this area. You will serve as scientific lead for Houston Methodist collaborating with internal principal investigators and academic physicians connecting the dots between multiple disciplines, concurrent research, and our Center for Health Science & Data Analytics. Additionally, this position will serve as scientific liaison for the Center for Health & Nature, a joint initiative between Houston Methodist, Texas A&M and Texan by Nature; the City of Houston; State of Texas; and federal institutions.
