Chief, Partnerships Office

Sacramento, CA

California State Parks is looking for a new Chief to lead their Partnerships Office. The Partnerships Office works with concessions, volunteers, park operators, non-profits and for profit organizations to improve and maintain the State Park System. The Partnerships Chief serves as a Senior Leader in the department and regularly interacts with the highest levels of California State Parks leadership, including District Superintendents, Division Chiefs and Deputy Directors.

 

The Chief of Partnerships reports to the Deputy Director of Park Operations. In their capacity as the Chief of Partnerships, they manage a thriving network of mutual cooperation within the California State Park System that engages private, public, and volunteer services. The Partnerships team consists of approximately 17 full time employees working in concessions, park impact partners, volunteers, and cooperating associations. 

 

The Partnerships team has been cultivated to encourage and support high quality recreation while protecting and preserving our natural and cultural resources. They are curious, motivated, independent and adaptable. The leader of the Partnerships team will bring a comprehensive understanding of best practices to empower, inspire, and strengthen public and private partners to create, promote, sustain, and expand services to California’s State Park System.
