This opportunity

You will have the opportunity to influence positive change within some of the world’s largest organizations. Your work—envisioning and developing content that demonstrates clients’ performance and progress on the environmental, social, and governance issues of highest interest to key stakeholders—will influence company executives to think differently and accelerate their move toward more responsive and sustainable modes of operating. You will act as a trusted advisor and partner to our clients as well as to your team members and will often interact with senior leaders within the client organization.


This position

As a consultant and content strategist, you will develop clear, compelling, and credible (pardon the alliteration) corporate ESG messaging and communications for FrameworkESG clients. You will take the lead in crafting themes, key messages, and narrative stories to build cohesive company ESG reports and other communications.

You will engage internal and external stakeholders, including client teams, to advance thinking and communication around key ESG issues and build trust and brand value. In addition, you will contribute to our ability to secure and strengthen client relationships and advance our mission and vision as well as our firm’s brand and visibility in the marketplace.

You will immerse yourself in the why and how we work as we do, learning from and, in turn, teaching your team members. You will have professional and business-development opportunities and maintain expertise in ESG communication trends and best practice, as well as have a credible working knowledge of disclosure standards and frameworks and the evolving expectations of stakeholders for ESG information.

This a mostly a remote position, although attendance is required at firmwide gatherings and may be required for key team meetings and occasional visits to firm hub locations.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Develop key themes and narratives that credibly convey client companies’ ESG performance and progress
  • Write and edit company ESG reports and content to provide stakeholders with a transparent, balanced, and engaging view of clients’ achievements and challenges around key ESG issues
  •  Train and support team members in developing their excellent writing skills and marshal internal resources to ensure elegant execution of communications projects
  • Communicate progress of the projects you support to clients, internal team, and project leads
  • Advance client relationships by understanding and addressing their needs
  • Collaborate with internal team and design professionals to produce high-quality, substantive, visually compelling, and actionable deliverables
  • Contribute to client workshops and meetings and present to executives regarding communication strategies and key messaging
  • With direction from Framework’s leadership and in collaboration with the client service team, strategize, plan, and produce Framework’s thought-leadership content and marketing and business-development materials, including product and service, capabilities, and proposal presentations
  • Continue to learn and deepen your expertise: keep abreast of developments in the sectors of clients you serve, as well as best practices in ESG reporting and communications
  • Coach, mentor, and support the development of colleagues
  • Pitch in wherever, whenever, and however to support colleagues, serve client objectives, and elevate Framework’s brand and profile in the marketplace


Your Experience, Skills, And Professionalism

You have at least a bachelor’s degree and four (4) or more years of relevant professional experience as a writer, business journalist, or communications professional; experience writing about ESG issues and performance for an agency, news organization, or corporate environment is a strong plus.


You have an enterprise mindset and consider the impacts of your decisions on others and the business. You’re self-motivated and always looking for how we can work better, deliver exceptional client experience, and grow our influence and impact.


You have strong project-management skills and can execute work assignments to tight deadlines, independently and as part of a diverse team working across various locations. You are organized in your work and your thinking.

You are proficient with standard software applications such as Asana, Box, Slack, and MS Office applications.


You can travel as needed for client work and business development (we do not anticipate that this position requires a significant amount of travel).
