Measure to Improve (MTI) is currently seeking a talented and experienced Zero Waste Coordinator to contribute towards the next phase of our growth. Leverage your expertise to complete deliverables and drive implementation of professional services and technology solutions in multi-year client engagements. The Zero Waste Coordinator supports and assists MTI’s client’s zero waste efforts. As a Zero Waste Coordinator you will plan, design, implement, and evaluate zero waste projects to support the produce sector; specifically, growers, packers, shippers, and processors. This position will interact closely with MTI's Senior Account Manager, CEO, and MTI customers.

The mission of Measure to Improve is to help agricultural producers and processors measure, improve and credibly promote their sustainability efforts. We believe the driving force behind sustainability starts with a good business case. We set out to discover the economic savings that also translate into environmental benefits. We show companies how to stay ahead of mandates and appeal to the growing segment of environmentally conscious buyers.​

Primary Responsibilities Include:

• Work closely with clients to collect, track, and manage data relating to Zero Waste metrics on a weekly basis for goal setting and reporting purposes
• Participate in visual and physical audits; both on-farm and in processing facilities
• Provide support for client Green Teams; including but not limited to scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, coordinating notes, and conducting follow-ups
• Respond to buyer-surveys on waste related questions
• Perform data analysis of environmental impacts, trends, and opportunities for management review to inform corporate policy and protocol changes
• Help develop written, visual and digital employee education tools for training purposes
• Assist with Zero Waste trainings for client staff
• Provide client support for Zero Waste programs as needed


Qualifications:

• Must be computer proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Powerpoint, and Excel
• Strong quantitative and data analysis skills required; including the ability to collect, sort and identify trends in large data sets
• Strong project management skills and high-attention to detail
• Ability to be flexible, multi-task, and work independently
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Self-starter who can work both independently and collaboratively with co-workers and clients
• Ability to work in different settings; in the office, field, and processing facilities
• Ability to lift (up to 40lbs) and perform physical tasks
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Fluency in Spanish preferred but not required
• Passion for produce industry and Zero Waste


Education/Training:

• Bachelor’s Degree or advanced education/training equivalent in Sustainability, Environmental Studies, Business, or related field
• Possession of, or ability to obtain a TRUE Advisor Certificate or a California Resource Recovery Certificate within six months of employment
