Ecova’s Sales Director, Utility is responsible for the development and execution of a strategic regional portfolio including new bookings, expansion of work with current clients and revenue retention.
Responsible for securing new business opportunities with regionally targeted, enterprise-level accounts through consultative prospecting, networking, qualifying and closing techniques.
Identifies regional market trends for communication and planning with market leads for future product enhancement and development.
Develops, owns and drives execution of regional growth plans and regional enterprise-client strategies based on knowledge of applicable regulatory environments and client types (e.g., investor-owned utility, municipal, generation, retail, etc).
Engages clients to ensure an understanding of their present and future solution design needs.
Develops sales plans unique to each client and leads their execution.
Leads effective development and delivery of competitive client proposals by collaborating with Ecova’s Solutions Engineering, Delivery and Product Management teams.
Responsible for identifying and communicating required design, pricing and delivery strategies (collectively, “win strategies”) to these internal teams and assessing proposals for their match to needed win strategies.
Manages client relationships at decision-maker levels and properly sets delivery expectations with clients as well as internal delivery teams.
Leads contract and scope negotiation for new business in partnership with Ecova’s Solutions Engineering, Legal, Delivery and Product Management teams.
Participates in ongoing client relationships as part of client plans developed by you.
Identify future strategies and new opportunities with those existing clients.
Conducts regional review sessions; recommends changes to energy and/or resource management measures based on energy and demand response trends.
Execute contract renewals—leading development of new offerings as applicable within those renewals.
BS/BA degree in Business Management (marketing/sales/business administration concentration) preferred.
Minimum of five years of related sales experience, preferably in an energy services, high technology, services, or business process outsourcing related field to multi-site accounts.
Demonstrated experience managing complex energy management service delivery projects.
Effectively worked with and/or managed operational teams in order to provide the necessary outcome to a client.
Ability to work in a team-oriented, matrixed work environment.
Ability to provide strategic account management and have negotiated large services contracts with clients.
Strong business and financial acumen.
Ability to effectively communicate both written and verbally.
Demonstrated organizational skills.
Ability to see trends in data, understands origin of data, and incorporate data into meaningful reports and/or presentations.
Demonstrated intermediate to advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite of tools.
Able to travel up to 75% of the time.
