The mission of Fair Trade USA's Certification Department is to develop, implement, and continuously improve a transparent and credible assurance model that instills confidence and is easily understood by all stakeholders. We ensure compliance with Fair Trade USA Standards and guarantee claims throughout each product’s chain of custody. This role will be responsible for assisting the Certification Team with Fair Trade USA’s certification processes and operations for our trade partners. The ideal candidate will be detail oriented and will have a proven track record of clear and consistent communication.
Maintain certification relationships with Fair Trade business partners, providing guidance and ensuring adherence to certification requirements.
Support the coordination and execution of audits.
Identify areas of process improvements and implementing solutions that enables scale of the Trade Program at Fair Trade USA.
Assist with onboarding and regular communications to business partners.
Work effectively as a team member, supporting peers and providing insights to improve external customer service as well as the workplace.
A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Proficiency in MS Office applications (most notably MS Excel).
Exceptional oral and written skills
Demonstrated ability to be flexible, adaptable and able to multi-task in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
Detail-oriented, logical, systematic, methodical, highly organized, able to problem solve and often work autonomously.
Ability to liaise well with multiple teams across the organization and with external trade partners.
Strong work ethic, and likes to have fun on the job.
