The Sr. Manager of CSR Environmental Sustainability supports all facets of corporate responsibility related to environmental stewardship with a specific focus on the company’s flagship program, Cox Conserves and its emerging focus on clean technology. The position leads all employee engagement activities related to Cox Conserves, including but not limited to, environmental partnerships, employee education and activation, special events for Cox Conserves launches, Cox Heroes and Chairman’s Challenge, and environmentally focused volunteer activation. The position requires collaboration with various corporate teams and clients including Cox Conserves, supply chain, communications, finance, legal, marketing, business development, etc. This role will engage our approximately 50,000 employees to find their individual paths towards environmental stewardship and to explore, innovate and collaborate to support the company’s path towards its environmental targets.
Duties and responsibilities:
-Support achievement of Cox Conserves targets through public awareness and employee engagement
-Leads national and local environmental partnerships and employee-facing programs
-Leads relationship with Cox Conserves; mobilizing operational success into communications and employee engagement opportunities
-Leads annual development and execution of environmental volunteer opportunities
-Leads annual development and execution of Cox Heroes and Chairman’s Challenge programs as well as activation for Earth Month, etc.
-Represents Cox Enterprises with major environmental partners
-Build innovative ways to engage employees with Cox Conserves mission and success
-Build and lead strategy to raise awareness of Cox as a leader in the environmental space
-Passion for environmental sustainability and community impact.
-Supports award nominations or public speaking opportunities related to Cox Conserves
Minimum qualifications include:
-Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental stewardship, non-profit management, strategy or other related field strongly preferred
-7+ years experience in Corporate Social Responsibility
-2+ years in environmental stewardship or sustainability
-The ideal candidate is comfortable in a collaborative environment, which includes communicating with executives, communication peers, non-profit leadership, subject matter experts and others.
-The ideal candidate has an ability to take operational/engineering focused projects and translate them into communication and engagement opportunities for the larger business.
-The ideal candidate understands different audiences and knows how to effectively communicate with them.
-The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and has the ability to prioritize and work independently
-The ideal candidate is able to provide leadership and manage a team
Preferred qualifications include:
-Master’s degree in business administration or other relevant field
-Strong strategic thinker, ability to link business value with environmental and societal value
-LEED AP, IGEL or related certification
