We are currently seeking a Software Product Coordinator to join our Information Systems (IS) department to coordinate with consultants implementing programs in the Distributed Energy Resources department. The Product Coordinator would translate business requirements into software solutions for processing bill credits and incentive rebates for renewable energy programs.

The Information Systems (IS) department at Energy Solutions is the software division in the heart of our environmentally focused consulting firm. Our team designs and implements innovative technical solutions to drive our nation’s transition to a cleaner and more dynamic energy future and works closely with the rest of the company to deliver these solutions to our clients.

In this role, you will be gathering requirements, writing technical software specifications, and coordinating directly with utility software teams. You will collaborate with clients, consultants, and software project managers to ensure the scope is well understood and the timelines are properly communicated.

Energy Solutions has a remote-friendly work environment for staff located throughout the United States. We also have offices in Oakland and Orange, California as well as Boston, Massachusetts for those that wish to work from one of our offices.

As part of this team, you will:

Collaborate with consultants and software staff to scope custom software systems
Support communications between all stakeholders
Communicate project plans and timelines and coordinate revisions to meet changing needs
Gather requirements, write technical specifications and work tickets, coordinate stakeholders to prioritizing tasks.
Compile documentation of program development and subsequent revisions
Maintain client relationships and support users of the software
Self-manage time and work under minimal guidance

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a similar technical discipline, and either a master’s degree in a related discipline or 2-5 years of consulting experience in the software industry
Software design experience (such as business and functional requirements, user interface/human factors, software design processes, focus groups, usability testing, wireframes, visual design, etc.)
Literacy in Agile frameworks of Scrum or Kanban management, experience with JIRA or similar ticket management software
Strong technical writing and interpersonal communication skills
Energy efficiency/renewable energy domain experience a plus
