This position manages all aspects of the Software Development department, which is responsible for daily support of the Operations Department, and the design, development, and deployment of software solutions that meet the needs of the business. This position reports to the VP of Information Technology.
Perform personnel management tasks including but not limited to recruiting, staff hiring, performance reviews, employee career development, timekeeping, job descriptions, salary classification, and vacation time management, etc.
Maintain a core workforce of motivated technical professionals, trained in appropriate technologies and expert in the Ecova business domain.
Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers of trained software development personnel to enable workforce augmentation in a scalable and cost effective manner.
Ensure Software Development priorities are in continual alignment with business goals and objectives.
Ensure quality processes are employed in the deployment, maintenance, and support of all solutions. Ensure that we follow our defined software development life cycle for all development projects.
Ensure solutions meet stated business requirements, are readily scalable to support business growth, and are delivered on time and within budget.
Ensure that the technology employed in software solutions is appropriate to the business problem being addressed, is thoroughly evaluated, and is proven within the industry.
Prepare departmental operational costs and ensure that the costs remain within approved budgetary constraints.
Prepare departmental goals and ensure they are met.
Manage daily project deliverables when required.
BS in Computer Science, or equivalent field.
Minimum of 10 years software development management experience in a matrix style organization.
Extensive experience in quality software development lifecycle processes.
Expertise in software development project management.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
