Do you want to work with committed, thoughtful, and creative team members in a collaborative and supportive work environment? Then FrameworkESG may be the place for you!

FrameworkESG is a specialty consulting firm that helps clients align their thinking, strategies, and operations with evolving environmental, social, and market realities. We are motivated by a vision to help clients solve some of their—and society’s—thorniest problems, bring clients an exceptional experience and expand our impact.

During our 18 years in business, we have built a curious and collaborative culture that enables us to bring our best thinking to our clients and, in turn, help our clients exceed their stakeholders’ expectations for performance. We are driven by an entrepreneurial spirit and reward collaborative dedication, responsiveness, and initiative.

We share an ethos of client service built on relationships that evolve into partnerships. We deliver for clients by listening carefully, thinking deeply, and speaking candidly. We seek to bring a diversity of backgrounds and perspectives that deliver smarter insights, and we are supportive of and accountable to one another.

This opportunity

You will have the opportunity to influence positive change within some of the world’s largest organizations by bringing to life their performance and progress on the environmental, socials, and governance (ESG) issues that matter most to their stakeholders. You will serve as a trusted advisor and partner to our clients as well as to your team members. You will articulate clients’ efforts to address the evolving expectations of stakeholders and the key principles of ESG performance and create compelling narratives that credibly communicate performance and value to the marketplace.

Your impact

You will interact directly with clients, evaluate data and past reporting to help them understand, improve, and communicate their performance around the issues that matter most to stakeholders. Your work will increase understanding of performance among key stakeholders and influence company executives to think differently and accelerate their move toward more responsive and sustainable modes of operating.

You will immerse yourself in the why and how we work as we do, learning from and, in turn, teaching your team members. You will have professional- and business-development opportunities and maintain expertise in ESG communication trends and best practice, a credible working knowledge of disclosure standards and frameworks, and evolving expectations of stakeholders for ESG information.

This position

As a senior writer and ESG content strategist, you will develop clear, compelling, and credible (pardon the alliteration) ESG messaging and communications for FrameworkESG clients. You will develop ESG-related content and contribute to the development of ESG reports and communications efforts. You will engage internal and external stakeholders, including client teams to advance thinking and communication around key ESG issues and build trust and brand value. You will contribute to our firm’s brand and visibility in the marketplace and our ability to secure and strengthen client relationships and advance our mission and vision.

Responsibilities include:

- Write and edit reports and ESG content that provide stakeholders with a transparent, balanced, and engaging view of clients’ achievements and challenges, establishing the core platform for all other disclosures and evaluation by rating organizations

- Train and support team members in their mastery of the written word and marshal internal resources to ensure elegant execution of project work.
- Communicate progress of projects you support to team members and firm leadership

- Serve as a point of contact for clients whose projects you lead; advance client relationships by understanding and addressing their needs

- Collaborate with internal team and design professionals to produce high-quality, substantive, visually compelling, and actionable deliverables

- Contribute to client workshops and meetings; present to executives regarding communication strategies and key messaging

- With direction from Framework’s Chief Growth Officer and in collaboration with the client services team, strategize, plan, and produce Framework’s thought-leadership content and marketing and business-development materials, including product and service, capabilities, and proposal presentations

- Continue to learn and deepen your expertise: keep abreast of developments in the sectors of clients you serve, as well as best practice in ESG reporting and communications

- Coach, mentor, and support the development of colleagues

- Pitch in wherever, whenever, and however to support colleagues, serve client objectives, and elevate Framework’s brand and profile in the marketplace

You are proficient with standard software applications such as Asana, Box, Slack, and MS Office applications. You can travel as needed for client work and business development; we do not anticipate that this position requires a significant amount of travel.

Working at Framework

We are guided by our values: Relationships rule. Learn every day. Take initiative. Be nimble. We seek mutual understanding and value collaboration, communication, and learning. We are intentional about creating positive team and exceptional client experiences. We celebrate wins, big and little. And while the pandemic has transformed how people around the world work, it has only reaffirmed and reinforced our commitment to nurture a supportive work culture. In response to the pandemic, we tested and deployed new systems that foster collaboration, boost learning, and ease sharing. For our mental and physical wellbeing, we created events such as our Step Away from the Desk! movement program; rolled out nutrition coaching, virtual socials, and games; and provided stipends to support comfort and productivity in home-office environments. Post pandemic, we expect many of these changes to endure. If anything, the experience has deepened our understanding of the vital links between work, play, creativity, and overall wellness.

Currently, we work from our homes and will explore returning to offices or employee hubs when it is safe to do so. Firm members hail from across the United States: Connecticut; Boston, Massachusetts; New York; Chapel Hill, North Carolina; Portland, Oregon; Austin, Texas; and Seattle, Washington.

We offer a competitive compensation and bonus package commensurate with relevant experience; up to 35 days of PTO, including all federally recognized and 2 floating holidays; healthcare and retirement plans, profit sharing, flexible work location and arrangements, and stipends for home-office and professional development.
