Description and Responsibilities
The Senior Regulatory Advisor, Ceres Accelerator will work on key legal and regulatory issues. This part-time position is designed for a highly motivated, self-starter with significant experience with key legal and regulatory issues with climate disclosure, the US Dept. of Labor pension work and other topics. The position will report to the Director, US Financial Regulations, Ceres Accelerator for Sustainable Capital Markets. This part-time position can be a remote employee.
Specific duties include, but are not limited to the following:
Conduct research, analysis and writing on key regulatory issues.
Review draft correspondence and reports as requested.
Participate in external meetings with investors, policy makers, and regulators to move investors, banks and insurance companies to set net zero targets.
Collaborate with the team to support Ceres positions to influence regulations of the SEC and other regulatory agencies, including preparing information and regulatory filings, background for investors and companies, and related materials to support regulatory influencing efforts as needed.
Work with the U.S. Department of Labor on regulatory issues providing legal guidance.
Support other Ceres Accelerator projects as requested.
Twenty years or more of direct experience working on legal and/or regulatory efforts that expand investor protection and corporate sustainability disclosure.
Prior relevant corporate and government experience working on ESG issues
Legal degree with regulatory experience.
Effective presentation style as well as strong speaking and written communication skills.
Strong relationship management skills
Sound judgment, sensitivity to diverse constituencies, excellent interpersonal skills, strong initiative, and motivation. Ability to collaborate with individuals from a range of backgrounds.
Experience delivering projects on deadline and within time and resource budgets.
Ability to work as part of a team and to take a collaborative approach.
Ability to bring a positive outlook to working at Ceres.
