As Regional Manager, you will primarily be responsible for management of the NEPCon Assurance United States and Canada region, including oversight of Assurance staff working on client portfolios, auditing and certification services. The Regional Manager is also responsible for managing and implementing strategic business plans, as well as quality and financial performance in the region. Through direct support and guidance from the Market Development team, you serve as the NEPCon representative in the region to expand visibility, develop new business, manage relationships, and maintain credibility of the organization. If based in the US: The Regional Manager will also serve as the legal representative of NEPCON LLC. As the legal entity manager s/he is responsible to oversee legal, financial and HR issues according to country legislation, with support of the NEPCon Operations team.

The tasks in this position are multi-faceted and some of them will be:

Regional Management
Manage regional performance and development
• In coordination with the NEPCon management team, develop and implement strategic and business plans for the region, including regular progress reporting;
• Oversee management of the regional teams responsible for implementing auditing services and other regional operations;
• Manage implementation of NEPCon policies and procedures by regional staff and auditors to ensure integrity, credibility and conformance with certification systems;
• Coordinate with appropriate staff to resolve potential disputes (complaints and appeals);
• Serve as liaison with regional stakeholders and certification scheme groups.
Customer Relations and Key Client Management
• Under the direction of the Market Development team, map key accounts and implement procedures for key client relationship management;
• Establish and ensure regional implementation of client care for current and interested clients;
• Run client feedback surveys and follow up as relevant – ensuring our services are meeting market demand and are improved through client feedback.
Finance & Operations
• Support the annual budgeting and mid-year re-forecasting for the region; review quarterly budgets and accounts receivable reports;
• In coordinator with HQ, manage the finances of the region, including review of monthly financial reports (e.g., Profit & Loss statements, projections);
If based in the US:
• Act as Legal Entity Manager and supervise operational staff in the United States;
• Ensure NEPCon operations and administrative policies and procedures are communicated and implemented by staff in the region;
• Oversee compliance with tax, registration and other legal requirements; oversee/authorize bank transactions.

Regional Market Development
Sales and Marketing Coordination
• Manage sales functions in the region, including overseeing any business development representatives. This include sales and marketing planning, coordination, resource allocation, budgeting of sales and marketing activities, and setting and achieving sales goals/targets;
• Under the direction of the Market Development team, collaborate with all relevant programme departments to ensure synergies.
Market Development
• Identify market needs for new services in the region and track trends and statistics for current services;
• Support Innovation Development team as projects are defined in the region;
• Under the direction of the Market Development team, collaborate with the communications team to provide input on market and client needs in the region.
Market Coordination
• With the support from Market Development team, and regional offices create marketing plans by country;
• Adapt marketing tools – regional web section – promotional material for the region;
• Identify and participate in networking opportunities:
• Understand and map the regional events and speaking opportunities;
• Identify all trade associations and networking groups and join those that we should engage;
• Identify NGOs and manage strategic relationships.

Other duties as assigned.

Professional requirements
To be ready to take on this position, you must have a bachelor’s degree in resource management/similar or business; advanced degree is desirable.

Additionally, it is a requirement to have a minimum of 10 years' experience in management oversight of natural resources area or production/manufacturing, business development, key stakeholder relationship management, economic development, finance and operations, quality assurance, and auditing.

In addition to this,
• You have previous experience in project management (planning, management, evaluation).
• You have proven experience in marketing and sales.
• You are a good manager that can provide effective leadership while working with staff from different cultures, many of whom are working remotely.
• You are a proficient user of the MS Office package (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
• You are fluent and have excellent written and spoken English skills. French language skills are desirable.

• Work time: 35 hours/week

• Local and international travel
