The Project Assistant for the Lowell Center for Sustainable Production will assist with day-to-day project operations, providing administrative support to the staff, advisory committee and members of the Green Chemistry & Commerce Council (GC3), a university-sponsored business to business network of well-known companies advancing safer chemicals across supply chains and related activities.

Primary Responsibilities:
•Provide administrative and telephone support and calendar management
•Write and distribute emails, correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms
•Assist in the preparation of regularly scheduled reports
•Support development and maintenance a paper and electronic filing system
•Update and maintain office policies and procedures
•Order office supplies and research suppliers
•Maintain contact database and mailing lists
•Assist in reconciling monthly pro-card transactions/logging
•Interact with other departments to effectively and efficiently conduct special projects and assignments
•Depending on qualifications, assist with project research

Other Duties:
•Make travel arrangements in compliance with travel policy and prepare expense reports
•Assist in planning internal and external meetings and events, including preparing and coordinating materials such as agendas, handouts, brochures and other materials. Where needed, take detailed minutes.
•Draft and edit PowerPoint presentations

Minimum Qualifications:
•High School diploma or GED/equivalent with 3-5 years of related administrative/office experience; bachelor’s degree preferred
•Minimum of 3 years demonstrated experience of computer software including office applications, data base management, spreadsheets, email/Outlook, Microsoft Word/Excel
•Strong organizational skills and superior attention to detail
•Independent yet able to seek input where needed
•Excellent verbal/written communication and time management skills

Additional Considerations:
•Knowledge of chemistry, engineering or environmental health a plus
•Familiarity with HTML, Adobe InDesign and Photoshop a plus

This position is contingent upon funding. The initial appointment will be for one year with a possibility of renewal contingent upon funding and successful performance.
