Job Description:
Employment Status: Full Time, Regular Exempt Position on Worker-Owner Track
Hours: 40-45 hours/week
Starting Salary: TBD

Department: Citizen-Consumer
Report to: Designated supervisor
Location: West Bridgewater, MA strongly preferred

An interest in the mission of Equal Exchange
Knowledge of fair trade and supply chain challenges preferred
Experience working in a social justice/food justice organization
Organizing experience; groups and individuals
Ability to work independently and in a team context
Flexibility and ability to work with undefined goals
Willingness to continuously learn by experience
Ability to prioritize, multitask, and problem solve
Good attention to detail
Strong communication; written and verbal
Strong computer skills, including database and other communication technologies
Comfortable speaking in public
Good people skills
Ability to travel

Recruiting and development of action forum membership
Member communication, engagement, and education
Presentations and trainings
Event planning / travel logistics
Responsible for action forum strategy within a team context
Shared accountability for program budgeting; adjusting as needed
Participate in weekly team meetings
Maintaining shared team systems and databases
Collaboration with other departments within Equal Exchange
Work with creative as needed to develop informational materials and gear
Continuous learning on Equal Exchange and the best methods to engage citizen-consumers in our work
Other tasks and projects as needed

Personnel & Worker Ownership/Fair Trade Development (approx. 10%):
Participating in staff, team, department, and educational (Exchange Time) meetings.
Understanding our producer partners, trading policies, and the Fair Trade movement.
Understanding and participate effectively in our worker co-operative model.
