GreenBiz Group is hiring a motivated, organized multi-tasker with an interest in the intersection of technology and sustainability. Reporting to the Community Manager, the Marketing Intern will play a key role in assisting with crucial project management and marketing efforts, especially relating to the VERGE 17 conference and expo. This position provides an excellent opportunity to gain experience in marketing, project management and event planning.
The Marketing Intern must be available to attend VERGE 17 and pre-conference events, September 17-21 in Santa Clara, CA.
-Support relationship management with marketing partners and sponsors to achieve marketing goals
-Research and identify potential strategic partners
-Develop marketing assets to be utilized by outside partners
-Coordinate distribution timelines for partnership deliverables
-Assist with planning and execution of VERGE 17 VIP events
-Manage selection and invitation process for VIP lunches and dinners in coordination with sponsors
-Lead on-site check in for VIP events with GreenBiz team members and volunteers
-Support conference registration in event management platform (Cvent) in advance of event and on-site during the event, providing a high-caliber customer service experience
-Respond to customer service inquiries
-Assist with planning and execution of on-site check in for 2,000+ attendees at VERGE 17
-Recruit and oversee a team of student volunteers
-Other responsibilities as necessary or as aligned with interests and skills
Requirements & Qualifications:
-BA/BS degree at time of internship preferred
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong desire to understand and address customers’ needs
-Exceptional attention to detail and high standard of excellence
-A collaborative work style and the ability to take direction or work independently as the situation requires
-Strong organizational skills and ability to juggle multiple priorities at once
-Experience using Adobe Creative Suite and HTML a plus
-Enthusiastic commitment to GreenBiz Group’s mission
Hours: 40 per week, 8:30am-5:30pm with some flexibility and optional work from home Fridays
