Reporting to the SR Director of Product Marketing, the Manager of Project Marketing & Project Valuation is a key leader within the Product Marketing team, the hub between the market, Stem’s solutions, sales, and execution. In this role, you will lead a team of analysts in development of value-based pricing tools enabling direct and partner sales to streamline pricing and proposal development. You will also develop and maintain proposal generation, sales training, and other sales tools, and provide strategic support to sales to ensure the company meets its product sales objectives.
Lead a team of Product Marketing Analysts in a sales enablement and support function, including long-term planning, guiding daily activities, coaching performance, and defining a compelling career path for the role.
Prioritize and allocate Analyst resources to balance immediate pipeline support with longer term Sales Enablement and Product Marketing priorities.
Incubate, improve, and automate key processes for operationalizing new products and markets, structuring and pricing deals, designing and valuing projects, and generating proposals.
Drive continued team transformation from transactional sales support into a robust and scalable sales and channel enablement function.
Lead the team in development and maintenance of analysis, pricing, and other selling tools that help Sales and channel partners autonomously design and value projects, generate quotes, and process exceptions.
Develop and operate a robust support function for the sales and channel stakeholders who use Stem’s proprietary selling tools.
Work with Business Development and Sales to synthesize market intel and program knowledge into useful information for sales and partners, including developing and delivering training.
Work with Product Management and Operations/Delivery teams to ensure sales efforts accurately reflect Stem’s product offering capabilities, while helping to guide product and service design.
Manage outsourced resources in administrative support activities such as processing and managing large data sets and updating CRM/pipeline data.
Hands on experience in valuation and pricing of wholesale and retail electricity products (with strong preference given to renewable energy contracting and energy storage pricing experience)
Exceptional financial modeling and analytical problem solving skills
Solid understanding of how an energy storage product is sold and the channels they are sold into
Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority. The ability to influence and work collaboratively with sales, marketing and product management is especially important
Demonstrated success in positioning, launching and growing differentiated products that meet and exceed business objectives
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to retain focus on key long-term initiatives while addressing day-to-day support needs
Experience with process design and implementation
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics, or related field; or MBA with technical undergrad
4+ years in energy storage and/or solar product marketing, sales, sales operations, or business development; 2+ years people management experience
