Compensation and Benefits

Location: Any SunWize office location (Irvine-CA, Kingston-NY, Philomath-OR, Rancho Cucamonga-CA or San Jose-CA)
Primary Job Responsibilities
• Responsible for all phases of design and documentation for commercial solar electric systems
• Oversee design activities of other project engineers on commercial and residential projects
• Support project managers during all phases of design, procurement and installation
• Prepare calculations and drawings for permitting and approvals in accordance with NEC and applicable building codes
• Develop cost estimates for materials and labor
• Prepare, maintain, and control bills of material, manuals, and drawings
• Support vendor selection, procurement process, permitting submission, and submission of interconnection applications
• Coordinate system monitoring and performance analysis for residential and commercial systems
• Assist project managers in preparation of contracts and purchase orders with outside vendors for the supply of materials and services
• Provide sales support, including evaluation of sites, calculation of shading impacts, preliminary design, and generation of proposal information
• Provide inspection and troubleshooting in the field
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
• Minimum of 5 years of experience performing design of commercial and utility solar photovoltaic systems
• BS degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline required
• Thorough knowledge of NEC, particularly Article 690
• Experience with 3-phase power and commercial interconnection issues
• Management experience with engineering teams desirable
• Strong organizational skills to manage the activities required in the design and permitting of solar electric systems
• A personal commitment to a safe working environment
• Strong computer application skills including MS Office Suite; Power Point, Excel and Word
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD preferred
• Detail oriented, organized, with effective communication skills
Other Requirements
• Occasional domestic travel may be required
