Basic Qualifications:
Three years experience working in the coating materials and applications field.

Core Competencies:
- Bachelor degree in specialized field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Typically possesses four or more years experience in the field performing analyses, consulting, and providing recommendations.
- Demonstrated experience effectively managing technical projects, scheduling, and coordinating program plans from inception to conclusion.
- Demonstrated experience negotiating with management to obtain resources, funding, and finalizing implementation schedules.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and working with teams and interfacing with internal and external organizations.
- Demonstrated strong presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to validate and accurately analyze information and make sound decisions.
- Demonstrated proficiency with computer software and data bases (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, Primavera, and SAP).
- Must demonstrate excellent business mastery, including the ability to integrate work across relevant areas, develop the business and services to enhance customer satisfaction and productivity, manage risks and safety appropriately, develop and execute business plans, manage information, and provide exceptional service to internal and external customers.
- Must demonstrate excellent management mastery, including effective resource and project planning, decision making, results delivery, team building, and staying current with relevant technology and innovation.
- Must demonstrate strong personal mastery, including ethics, influence and negotiation, leadership, interpersonal skills, communication, the ability to effectively manage stress and engage in continuous learning.
- ANSI18.1-1971: Shall be competent in technical matters related to plant safety and other engineering and scientific support aspects.

Preferences:
Knowledge of San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station (SONGS). Knowledge of nuclear plant operation, plant systems, and components.

Typical Responsibilities:
Responsible for the administration and implementation of the SONGS Preservation Coating Program and provide oversight for painting activities, as necessary, particularly during outage periods. Responsible for in-depth analysis and development of the
SONGS Preservation Coating Plan, providing presentations, feedback and consultative support to management and obtaining approval and funding for the project. Responsible for the continuous evaluation and implementation of the Preservation Coating
Plan, performing rust grade walk downs, and developing and publishing program status reports. Interface with other divisions, disciplines and supervisors to correct plant preservation coating problems and provide technical support. Provides technical resolution to the SONGS preservation coating program activities. Acts at a level of responsibility that impacts department performance related to approved budgets, objectives, core business activities, quality of service, productivity, and responsiveness
to customers and outside agencies. Promotes support of the Corrective Action Program (CAP) by ensuring preservation issues are identified and reported with timely and high quality notifications. Ensures procedures contain updated coating methods and materials in compliance with Nuclear industry requirements. Provides oversight of painting activities, as needed, during outage and non-outage periods. Develops various program reports to enable successful transitions from non-outage to outage periods. Assist with research and development for improving coating methods and analyzing coating failures. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
