Business Development Associate

Pure Strategies seeks a Business Development Associate to contribute to our company’s efforts to transform business to create a more sustainable future. The Business Development Associate will collaborate with Pure Strategies staff to bring new consulting clients and projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of working independently, supporting sales processes, having sustainability knowledge, and communicating effectively.  

What You Will Be Doing

The Business Development Associate will be crucial in growing our sustainability consulting firm. This role will work closely with the marketing, business development, and advisory teams to identify and pursue opportunities, foster client relationships, and contribute to the firm's overall business development success.

Key Responsibilities

• Research and identify potential clients and business opportunities in the target market.

• Facilitate the proposal process and assist in preparing proposals, presentations, and other business development materials.

• Maintain and expand relationships with potential and existing clients.

• Support business development activities like client events, memberships, awards, and conferences.

• Build and maintain a steady pipeline of new clients and new project opportunities.

• Collaborate with the business development team to create and implement effective sales strategies.

• Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities.

 • Attend industry events and conferences for networking opportunities.

• Manage the CRM software and related contact data.

• Meet and exceed sales targets.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, sustainability, or a related field.

• Proven experience in business development, sales, or a similar role; ideally with two years of experience.

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

• Strong organization, research, and analytical skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Project management experience.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and CRM software.

 • Periodic travel in the continental U.S.

This is a full-time position. Compensation and exact job responsibilities will be based on education and experience, with the salary range estimated at $52,000-$72,000. Pure Strategies provides paid time off, partial health insurance reimbursement, generous retirement contributions, and other competitive benefits. Since the company employs a virtual office environment, this is a telecommuting role, requiring permanent residence in the continental U.S. 


Work Environment

Pure Strategies team members collaborate on projects and have a high degree of autonomy. The Business Development Associate must be able to deliver highly effective results working from a home office in a virtual team environment. Periodic travel to industry events and semiannual company meetings is required for this position.
